After the sunset we drove to one of the lava tubes which had hundreds of bats. It was pitch black when we stood at the mouth of the cave. The bats would fly out and narrowly miss us literally inched from our faces. I aimed my camera and took a few shots hoping to get some of the bats.
That evening they also held a bonfire and a nighttime walking tour through the bush. We learned how to find spiders in the dark with a flashlight. Just hold the flashlight out at eye level and shine it around. Anything that glistens like a diamond is a spider. Their light is shining off their eyes. Well, I thought it was interesting anyway.
