Hill Tribe Trekking

"What! We gotta climb that!", thinks Chris. Yes, climbing this waterfall was our first order of business on our trek, but first, how I got here.
In Chiang Mai there are hundreds of places touting trekking tours. I didn't know how to go about it. One way is to ask around at other peoples experiences, but most people I ran into hadn't gone yet, and I needed to book it soon as I didn't want to waste another day looking.
I asked around at a few places and decided they are all the same. It would just be luck to get a good or bad tour. I went with the tour operator who seemed the most honest and caring.
I found her at Daret Guesthouse. (In front and 1 block west of Thae Pae Gate) The travel desk operator is Noo and she was one of the few genuinely helpful sales people I found in all of Thailand. She was invaluable in helping arrange everything from Hill Tribe Trekking to laundry!
The guesthouse has a great staff and is fine for to eating, meeting people and getting cheap/fast internet. But you could probably get nicer rooms somewhere else, although they were adequate.
